San Antonio suggestions? On our first big trip

We made it to Dallas and are finally getting to see our grandkids for the first time in nearly a year. We want to take a short overnight to San Antonio and see the Alamo and Riverwalk before coming back to Dallas for the weekend. Any suggestions as to good places for our RV? We would prefer a pull through type of space since we are still getting the hang of parking.
Thanks in advance,
Pearl

You're in Texas now so there's not many places that are "just short overnights".
Depending where in the DFW metroplex your starting from to San Antonio is 4 1/2 - 5+ hour drive - 300+ miles (probably drive across MD) so you may have to spend 2 nights to see the places mentioned.
As for places to stay, the Texas hill country is loaded with great campgrounds in some beautiful areas, just Google "RV Park reviews" once you find a specific area of SA.

We stayed at the KOA. Nice pull throughs. Beautiful park. They have a shuttle at the front that goes to Riverwalk etc.

Dallas to San Antonio is 100% not a day trip. You need at least a couple of days in San Antonio. It’s an amazing city with excellent food and places to see. If you want tips for your trip I’d be glad to help.

What ever you do, please try to time your drive thru Austin so it's not at rush hour. It can be kind of hairy.

True. Spend the money and take the toll bypass. It will save you a bunch of time and frustration.

If you're in no big rush drive west on I-20 from DFW & take 281 south to SA. Or 820 west to 377 then SW to 281 south. It's a much nicer drive & you avoid Austin.
If you do take the I-35 be sure when needing fuel/food to stop at Buc Ees, they probably the nicest, cleanest convenience store/fuel stations you'll ever be in & ALL of them are VERY rv friendly for fuel & parking.

No I don't work there or get any compensation from them, just a great place to stop.
