Please give me suggestions for camp sites outside of Rocky Mt. National Park? Perhaps in the Estes Park area.
We are coming from the West (Minnesota), Wife, Myself and two sons 7 and 11.
We are looking to set up a "base camp" that we can then run around the area to see the sites.
Let me know.
We stayed at Dakota Ridge RV Park in Golden, CO four nights in June; very nice park, clean and well kept grounds, laundry and bath house. Convenient to several attractions including Lookout Mountain, Coors Brewery, old town Golden, some very scenic drives thru the mountains and not far from RMNP. Also Stayed at Loveland RV Resort (more of a campground) which is OK, big park with lots of shade trees, but sites were rather close together.
Riverview campground is on the west side of Loveland on the Big Thompson river. It is nice and is just at the foot of the mountains. My favorite is Stillwater campground on Lake Granby.Sites are OK, but the views are worth a million and it is just on the west side of Rocky Mountian National Park
