Frame Issues

I recently encountered a failure of the upper main frame, the main outer beam leading from the forward bulkhead to the pin box area has cracked, note there are no welds cracked but the actual beam has cracked. my main reason for this post is to ask the following question.
Has anyone with a Crossroads Fifth Wheel encounter any type of frame failures in this area and if so is there a repair procedure.

this is on a 2014 Crossroads Rushmore Lincoln RF39LN

It would help if we knew what rig you have.

I'm not sure if this is the same issue you are having or not.

Also, could you put the make, model, and year of your rig in your signature so we know what you asking about?

Lloyd,
The frame failure is not on the same area as my pin box area looks like new.
this is the main upper frame on the left hand side under the living room slide

I see you have a front living room instead of the bedroom being up there in front.
Is it right at the back side of the overhang? Is the fiberglass splitting there vertically also?
I have seen that issue talked about. Just can't bring it back right now.
I will try and come up it and if I do I'll post.

I moved your thread to the Rushmore forum. I think it was one or some of those guys that was having trouble. Hopefully they will now catch this thread and chime in.
You can also do a little searching and reading in the Rushmore sub forum.

Lloyd,
Yes the fiberglass is split just even with the front of the slide, when the fifth wheel is sitting on the landing gear the crack in the fiberglass is slightly open, when hitched to the truck the crack in the fiberglass buckles slightly but the molding in the radius area pulls away from the side panel approx. an inch and a quarter.

I just had my 2014 3616 repaired. I had so much flex in my pin box area that the molding on the passenger side separated from the sidewall. I have had the crack in the fiberglass below the bedroom slide since maybe the third trip. I bought the coach new in 2014. I tried to get Lippert involved, but they ultimately said no. I had no luck with Crossroads which did not surprise me. I took it to a guy locally and he removed the skin below the cap. The pin box area had many broken welds. The area around the pin box area is welded to "C" channel. Most of these welds were broken. My guy rewelded all of this and added some square tubing. He also added some support below the generator. It was sagging. There remains to be a little flex, but within Lippert's spec. I also added and air ride hitch to cushion the jolting. These rigs should have them from the factory. If anyone from Crossroads is listening, thanks for nothing!

We have a 2018 Crossroads Cameo and it also had a frame failure in the front. We were told by the service department that it was a known issue by Crossroads and they were in the process of doing a recall. I don't know how far back that goes, but you might check with someone who handles Crossroads RVs... it may be covered by the company.

Tx Bob, glad to have this thread gaining some attention but I hate hearing that most of the owners are having to pay out of pock without any assistance from Crossroads or Lippert.
If you have any pictures of the repair I would really like to see them, my Rushmore is presently at a local repair shop, and they will start on the repairs in a couple of weeks.

I will PM you with my email address and can send you a couple of pictures on my frame failure if you would like to compare the frame issues.

John,
Thanks for the information, there is a Crossroads dealer near the repair shop that my Rushmore is at and I will check it out.
Do you happen to have any pictures of the frame damage or failed area, I will PM you my email address if you don't mind sending me the pictures.
