Norcold

Well, our Norcold 1210M bit the dirt again. 50* on coldest setting. It was faulty when we purchased the Rushmore. After our dealer failed in attempting to repair it, I found an independent service company that replaced the cooling unit under warranty. Then the door flap heater shorted out, resulting in damaging the contacts on the door. Just got a new door a couple weeks ago.....all was well, I thought. Personally, I rate it as a POS! Oh, add a new ice maker to the list.

Class action lawsuit......I'm not a fan of those, but I will join it. I have the extended warranty through Route 66, but a limited amount of those hundred dollar bills for the deductible. When all warranties run out, we'll have a regular residential refrigerator.

On the Redwood owners group forum it said Norcold is recalling these fridges. I think this is separate from the lawsuit. You may want to check

I had a norcold for 12 years not a lick of problems
I always made sure it was perfectly level when it was on
Otherwise you would get a hot spot in the tube.
Never replace anything. Just keep it clean

So, I don't guess I really understand what you're trying to say? One in a million works good? They have a recall.....they have a class action suit. Undoubtedly they have issues.

I also have. 2 others. Since 2013 never a problem.
But look my Rushmore has had 67 problems what about other Thor owners they have good luck it just might be a problem child.
Like Chevy vs ford. Every manufacture has been sued.
Maybe buy a compressure unit.maybe you will have better luck most new RV don't come with a 2 way. Some come all electric

I hate you've had so many issues with your Rushmore. I think almost all have lots of issues. We've had our share too. Most of them, I take care of myself. I had to run to Ace Hardware for a new shower hose before our first shower in the Rushmore. Dang shower head came off in my hand. All plastic...replaced with stainless steel hose. I have had my service man out quite frequently though. He's waiting now for parts to fix the stress crack under the bedroom slide.

Back to the Norcold. Do you have the dual individual fridges in your unit? I recall looking at one or two and they had the two regular refrigerators with opposing doors. We had two Dometic fridges that preformed well. I do believe the 4 door Norcolds have issues. I personally know a couple folks here that have them......problematic. One is in a Mobile Suite, whole unit replaced and many repairs.....the other in a new Montana Legacy, dealer can't get it to work right in warm weather. I saw a motorhome burn in Rockport.....started in the Norcold 4 door fridge that they failed to get the recall notice on. BTW, our fridge is not on the recall list.

Happy Memorial Day!

To bad about the recall. After having a residential I will never go back to the propane. All the electric propane I had over the years never gave any problems other than not being able to keep up in 90 weather

When we got the new cooling unit, ours was great even in the peak of hot weather. I've looked at the Samsung that will fit where this one is. I just hate to fork out the money while this one is under the extended warranty. If the warranty would allow the Samsung, I would do it in a heartbeat, but my experience tells me they will only fix or replace this one.

You are most likely eligible to enroll in the class action suit. There is a tab to select to enter your fridge serial number, and it will give you the manufacture date. I just signed up.
