Rushmore Franklin broken front window

We have a 2014 Rushmore Franklin with the big front window. We now have a big crack in this window and according to our dealer, the only fix shown by the factory is to replace the entire end cap. This will run $4,000 plus. Our dealer is still trying to find a better option for us. Has anyone had this window break? Any ideas on how to protect this window in the future? Also beware, our extended warranty does not cover.

If it was from flying debris on the highway, check with your insurance agent to see if it's covered by your policy.

Thank you. We do plan on doing that but unfortunately we have a high deductible. That said, it would still be better than the $4,000.
