Those cracks look like they could be repaired with an electric arc welder.

Lippert is a major supplier of RV components, such as frames. Unfortunately, they build them to the specifications of the customer. A cheaper frame is not as strong. Crossroads, and many others, like cheap frames. Your frame is long past its one year warranty.

In your instance, I would take it to a professional welder. They can clean up the metal, weld over the crack, and clean it up again afterward so it doesn't look like a hack job. Paint over it and keep an eye on things.

After repair, the frame can also be reinforced with a 6 inch length of 1 inch wide steel welded at a 45 degree angle from the edge of the frame to the web. A number of frames are reinforced this way direct from Lippert.

If I knew what I know now about Lippert, I would have not purchased this unit. Even though I do like it. I hear nothing but bad things about thier frames and bent axles.
I will examine mine much closer.

It seems that Lippert practically has a monopoly in the RV industry. I wish the NHTSA would start cracking down on the RV industry for safety issues like marginally designed axles and frames.

And they give us a hard time about it being out of warranty for such a simple fix.

yes I see what your saying they put them plates on the rails now to keep the shackles from flexing causing the frame to crack I found that they LIPPERT FRAME had this problem even back in 2006,the rest of the trailer has been great.

I like the looks of that reinforcement, I know what I'll do now if our frame cracks.

Sounds like Lippert may have addressed the issue on some frames. Mine is a triple axle. Maybe that makes a difference in how they handle it?

STILL happening. We have a 2015, and have stress cracks and excessive frame flexing that is ruining out slides, has caused interior and exterior cracks, and a leak upstairs.

I don't understand why there are no highway safety laws for trailers like recalls on vehicles,we just get o well out of warranty.
