First Big trip completed , + trip to the weigh scales!
Well our first trip was a success but Im still on the fence as to what I should do next.
The Tahoe pulled the trailer fine and even up the huge hills on the Coquihalla HWY were not bad. Braking as well seemed good I used the engine to slow me down on a few of the step ones though.
On the way home I found the HWY scales were closed but they leave the scale on so I decided to check it all out.
Trailer still mostly loaded 2x 250cc quads and a motorcycle on the front deck. See picture.
all tanks were dumped and water was less than 1/3.
I was 250 lbs under my max tire (E load) on the rears and about 200 lbs at the trailer axel weight under the vehicle stock rated towing capacity (7700 lbs)
I could not get just the tongue weight yet because there was a line of travel trailers behind me doing the same thing.
So in reality I'm so close I might as well be over. all things considered though it tows really stable and well. that's my dilemma.
I have the airbags at max to maintain a level tow+1000 lb weight distribution bars.
