Third time out. Minor problems starting.

This is a 2014 that I got new. Third time out and the panel is falling off the pantry cabinet. The staples pulled right thru. I could fix it easy enough, I just hope this does not happen every few times out.

Take a pic and send it to Crossroads to let them know of another aassembly problem. Probably needs more than staples?

I've learned the hard way to just learn to fix everything you possibly can yourself and not sweat over it. QC is non-existent in the RV industry, but you'll enjoy it a lot more if you don't let it stress you out. Most of the problems you can fix yourself cheaper than you can buy fuel to haul it to the dealer.

I didn't say you have to bring it to a dealer. you can do most repairs better yourself, but when you notify CR and let them know of problems , they sometimes will ship you the parts needed . That has happened for me . And on a few occasions, my pics were brought right to the assembly plant to show the workers some of the problems that their work caused. Don't know if worked or not , but at least someone there tried.

I took some pictures and my father in law was coming out for dinner. So I had him bring a staple gun and fired some new staples in it.

I had the same problem with my old 2013. I caught it at the dealer and they fixed it. I believe it's the nail gun set to hard and it drives the nails too deep.

Yes that is what it looked like. I think the panel is borderline on being too long. So if the staples pull thru the panel pops away from the frame work.

I am having the same issue I have the 2014 302 kb not a happy camper right now cabinet panel pretty much has come all off and trim on the ceiling is all falling off

Your statement is correct, once the warranty expires. I bought new and every little thing I have found on my unit is being fixed or replaced by the dealer/manufacturer. When I spend my cash on something, I expect it to be "right". Same expectations when I purchase a new vehicle. If something isn't right, they fix it.

I don't blame you, but if you live an hour drive one way from the dealer like I do, it is a cool, crisp hundred dollar bill every time I took mine in just to buy fuel. I can tinker with a lot of minor issues for a hundred bucks.

I agree totally, It is two hours each way to the dealer, plus the time to show them the default, and argue if it is a warranty issue. The small things I just fixed, and 2 larger faults I brought to the attention of CR direclty. They asked if I was OK fixing it myself and I said yes so they shipped the parts directly to me. In a perfect world I would hope these things would never occur and when they did be fixed immediately, but that just does not happen. I would like to compare it to a car, but then again, not a fair comparison as the car industry is much more precise. And dealer are all over the map for warranty work.
So if you can, fix the small stuff and move on....

Another point is that it isn't uncommon for your unit to sit on the dealer lot two or three weeks before they even pull it in, then another several days in the shop. Unless it is something fairly major, it just isn't worth the hassle. Most of the time, you will do a better job yourself anyway because it matters to you.

Agree. I've tried two dealers and have not been satisfied. The last couple of issues on my 2014 I fixed myself and did a better job as a shade tree mechanic than the alleged professionals did. I will say I was impressed that Crossroads sent me the parts without any hassle.

I think they don't teach how to schedule repair work at Rv school. If my Ford garage was like that, he'd be out of business, but somehow we tolerate it with Rv dealers.

Similar to a ITT Tech and the others, but only deals with Rv's. Our local mobile Rv service tech was trained in Florida years ago. He has a business that takes him all over the Eastern half of PA. His mobile service is so good he gave up his local garage to concentrate on it. The unfortunate part of that is he does not do major wall reconstruction.
