AutoGuide 2015 Heavy Duty Truck Comparison

Thanks for sharing the link that was some good info. Although being a RAM guy I do like the look of the GMC. I think the trans is the weak link with the Cummins and have wished the RAM would put the Allison with the Cummins. You just can't beat that transmission. They all make a nice truck though.

two duallies w/ 3.73 rears aganist fords srw 3.53 rear

I tend to agree it should always be apples to apples. Secondly why would Ford say take it or leave it that does not make sense.

It all comes down to personal choice. If there was a truck that was that outstanding, sales of the others would drop drastically. Have never seen that happen.

Ford only offers the 3.73 ratio with DRW and only offers the 3.55 ratio with SRW. So, if in fact, Ford would not provide a DRW vehicle for testing, then there was no way to have identical axle ratios. It is also possible (but I haven't checked) that SRW and DRW use different tire sizes and therefore effective axle ratios might be very close.

I believe ford uses the same tire for DRW and SRW in their F350's. However, the DRW's have longer axles on front due to the offset of the dually rims.
