Lightbulb Cross Roads - Electric Brakes Locked Up

I was moving my camper to a new storage area. As soon as I began moving forward, got an alert on my dash "Trailer Wiring Error/Malfunction" and then the truck no longer saw that I had a trailer. The trailer breaks (electric) are locked up. I connected the trailer to another truck and they are still locked up. I messed with connecting/removing, etc the 7-pin with no change. Trailer can move in reverse but not forward.

I think my F350 has an issue (7-pin connector - heading to dealer next week). This is a used truck and it (7 pin) was replaced by the previous owner. Will try to disco battery and see if brakes will release to move her into her new spot. Will also check to make sure emergency brake pin is still set (thought if missing, it would not throw an alarm code to my dash). Will also hit the connector with electric grease incase I am not making a good connection.

Any thought or ideas of what I can do to free the brakes. Thank you!

Check to see if the breakaway pin has been pulled and locked the brakes. Definitely disconnect the battery if the brakes don't release.

Knew a fellow once who said he was told to pull the cable and use it as a parking break/ anti theft device.

Glad you got it fixed and Thanks for posting back.

So many times folks ask a question then get several possible solutions but we never hear back as to what actually fixed the problem.

It will eat the battery up.

Don't do that.

At least you know the emergency brake works now. Always nice to have a quick fix.

And always be cautious when sticking that pin back in. There is usually a lot of "forward" movement ready to happen the moment the trailer brakes release. The first time I did it I think the trailer jerked ahead 4-6 inches and I was between the tailgate and the 5th.
