Hitch ball issues

I have had trouble since day 1 with the 2 5/16th ball and trying to get the trailer off of it. Any slope, turn, tilt or cross wind seems to make unhooking and hooking difficult. Straight, level and all evened up, comes off the ball no problem.

Far as I can tell by what I read, thats the right size ball.

Anyone else have these issues?

You have to remember that the part of the hitch that receives the ball , that is welded to the trailer tongue, is made in china....the bolt that tightens up to hold the ball(if it is still used) may be out of spec, as there is NO quality control in chinese made parts. even these parts. Maybe that is why some people have problems and others do not.....hhmmm

If using a wd hitch, after removing arms, I would always move the tow vehicle forward and back, ever so slightly with the hitch opened. Sometimes it's too far back in the receiver to come out easily. Angles always help to create a challenge when removing.
Also, make sure the ball is well greased for less friction.

This is common. Even with my utility trailer (1 7/8" ball) it hangs up sometimes, especially on unlevel ground.

I watch truck and if it looks hung up I stop and wiggle back of truck to pop it off. Setting parking brake helps as it keeps truck from rocking forward/backward in park, putting pressure on ball.
