Hitch Problem

Hi all, need some input and advice.

Just bought a Cruiser Aire 27mk, dealer is pushing the Anderson Hitch. After much research, the intent of the hitch is very good, but a letter from Keystone states frame warranty will not be honored with the Anderson Hitch.

I have a 2021 RAM 2500 4x4 with a 6' 5" bed and do need to remove the hitch when fifth wheel trailer is stored.

What kind of hitch is everybody using in this type of application and how do you like it.

Really appreciate your inputs, thanks.

Can't help with the Anderson...I have a Demco Hijacker Recon 5th wheel hitch rated at 21K...I get the impression from your post your looking for something you can take out easily...I am 72 and I can take it out of the bed of my truck with no trouble...My Recon hitch is the model that is held in the bed of my truck by my under bed mount goose ball hitch, but there is also a model with the four point mount as well...Hope this helped, but you can also You tube it for more info...

PS...not a slider hitch...

bigt56, we have the same unit as you but run a Ford F-250. We use the Andersen Ultimate Hitch and really like it. I did a lot of research on the warranty issue. This post is from a different forum but seems to be the consensus.

Hello BigT56,
Anderson is the only hitch I have used on my 5th wheel. Short trips or long trips (one from Jacksonville Fl to South Dakota) with never any issues what so ever. I do have the safety chains and use with every trip. Easy on and Easy off, through some of the most horrible highways we have to offer and some of the best. Mine is the Steel version with rails in the bed. I have a short box 5.5'. Just sharing my experiences with the Anderson hitch.

Thank you, appreciate all for your inputs. I did go with the Anderson hitch and really do like the concept of the hitch. Yes, easy to hook up too and disconnect. My only issue is that you need to raise the trailer a lot higher than with a kingpin style hitch, but all hitches do have their there idiosyncrasies. Thanks again.
