New tow vehicle

Decided it was time for a new truck and found a great deal on a new 2013 that was 1200 miles away. Almost exactly what I wanted and at least $12k less than ordering a new 2015. So, for 2 days time and $500 for airfare/fuel it is now parked in the garage. Silverado LT 3500HD CCSB SRW Duramax/Allison. Super quiet. Can't wait to try out the exhaust brake and IBC. Guess I'll leave the Jordan controller in the '03 when I sell it.

That's a nice truck Larry. You have probably already appreciated the changes that have come about since your old truck was new.
Like Keith mentioned, the EB is great.
Enjoy.

Congrats, Larry. Keeping a truck for 10+ years is unusual these days.

And you guys with the Rams, what made you decide on them? Especially, Coastn, why are you leaving Toyota?

Congrats Larry I dont think there are many differences between 2013 and 2015. That 12K will buy a lot of Diesel fuel. Best of luck.

Larry, Checked out your truck online. Looks like a beauty. Sure it has more than enough grunt to tow almost anything. Does the Chevy diesel need the skunk urine like the Ford diesels??
Best of luck with it. Enjoy

Simple reason to leave Toyota and go big 3...they pay employees pensions so we can enjoy retirement and traveling ...Toyota dosen't pay pensions...At least I don't think they do.....merry christmas all

Sounds like a great truck. But it doesn't exist until there are pictures. GRIN

The beauty is it got the initial break in on the drive home.

OK, fellow forum members, I am here to tell you that I posted a response to harley that has been removed.

Basically, I mentioned that Toyota employees in San Antonio are paid a great wage. Also, said that I hoped his pension was not associated with Detroit as they are having issues with their employee pensions due to bankruptcy proceedings.

It was deleted by some one, some way and some how. And it was not by me.

I realize that the statement was off topic and also sorry if I hit a nerve with someone, but I do not live in detroit and have nothing to do with how a city is run by its politicians....but pensions allow us all to travel in our toys..that is if the companies have pensions.

Harley, no nerve hit on your part. Just commenting on how things can go askew especially up in Detroit to people who worked hard for their pensions. Personally, I would be devastated if my pension was cut. And that is why we boomers worked so hard to get what we enjoy now.

Still wonder how it was deleted and by whom.

Actually, the 2015 HDs will be the new body style with production beginning next month. Judging by the 1500 series, I like the new center console better than the '03, but not $12k worth of better.
