New truck, adjusting my hitch.

I’ve been towing my TT with a Ram 1500 Big Horn for the past 5 yrs. recently bought a 2020 Silverado LTZ Z71. I noticed my hitch was not snug against the shank (equilizer ez hitch/ sway bars). So i snugged that up. But i also had more of a sag. So after getting the TT level and measuring the coupling on my TT it was at 18”. My ball on my truck was at 21”.

My problem is the shank doesn’t allow for me to lower the ball anymore. I’m on the lowest setting.

I just ordered a new shank with 3” more drop. I just wanted any insight since I’m fairly new at setting up hitches...input appreciated

Thanks

Jim

Wow! I didn’t think your truck would be that high. My 13 Z71 sits at 20” to top of ball and I have two holes I can drop yet. Husky hitch.

By the sounds of it you’re only choice is the new shank you ordered. Hope it all works out.

If the 1500 is lifted there may be a new longer shank needed. My 2500 uses the normal shank at the lowest holes and ok. Only time I needed the longer shank was with a Yukon that had the hitch way up in the bumper.
