I made my son a trailer hitch for towing his well its not amotor homebut a camper but it ended up coming apart and the camper passed me on the freeway when testing it, because it had broken lose.
I did a little research and this is what i found http://www.hitchanything.com/Reese-3...tch-30054.html sounds good and looks safer , but I am not sure if I can use this 5th Wheel Hitch for towing it? Has anyone tried this?

What size trailer do you have - 30K hitch is pretty hefty. What is your tow rig?

I use a 16k Husky/Valley hitch on mine. Mine is not a real heavy trailer.

Check eTrailer for hitch information too. Looks like the prices are better at hitchanything.com

You're right, my rig is f250 and I am actually looking at this one right now... Thinking I might just get this.

Maybe it's just me, but are you towing a fifth wheel trailer or a travel trailer? Give us the make and model number of your trailer so we can help you with answering your query. If it'sa fifth wheel, then a 16 to 18k fifth wheel hitch from any manufacturer should do. If it's a travel trailer, then a appropriately sized weight distributing hitch will do. Both types of hitches are highly engineered load and stress bearing devices and to homebrewone, to save some money, is nota wise thing to do.

Not me for sure, but I'd sure like to see a picture of it.
