Question SuperGlide

The 5th wheel I am purchasing has a Trailair Rota Flex Rubberized Pin Box from factory. After your folks helped me with information about sidewinder, which I was about to buy and change out, some 5th wheel owners I have talked to lately advise me to stay with Rota Flex and go with a SuperGlide Hitch to solve short bed problem.

Now that I am totally confused maybe some of you could help with some advice. I am not familiar with 5th wheel towing as I have owned Class A Motor Homes until now.

Thanks in advance,

Gary

The sidewinder is just a different type of an automatic and you would use a standard hitch (no slide). Lowers the hitch cost but your pin box is more expensive.

The PullRite SuperGlide hitches allow you to use the existing pin box or if you wish to change in the future to a MOR/Ryde, etc. that us your choice but the hitch itself is a bit more. Most people with PullRite SuperGlide hitches love them.

mark5w will be along shortly - he pulls a 34' unit with a really short box (5'6") and he can give you some insight.

I do have the Trail Air rota flex and the Pullrite Superglide. I am very happy and satisfied with both. No chucking or bouncing. I drove over 250 miles to pick up a used Superglide for $500. It was well worth the trip.
I recommend you stay with your proposed setup and see how it works before you invest in a different pin box. My bed is the 6.5' box.

Sorry, thought you had the ultra shorty.

I also have a SuperGlide in my short bed truck. I just bought it used at the end of last year from my neighbor and so far like it. I had a manual slider before this one and its nice not having to worry about turning too tight. Just have to remember to keep a can of WD40 to lube the rails.

I also have a Super Glide, but I use Slip-Plate lube on my rails. Like not haveing to think about manually releasing the slider for sharp turns.
