Question Tonneau Cover

I'm new to pulling a trailer and to owning a truck to pull it. I have a 2012 Dodge 1500 and want to add a tonneau cover. I think I like the tri folding type over the other possibilities. Does anyone have thoughts on the topic.

I elected to go with the Roll-X cover this time. If you aren't familiar with them, it might be worth while to take a look.

I've had 3 truxedo lo pro QT covers on 3 different trucks over the last 12 years. Tried the truxedo Deuce first on this truck, wouldn't stay latched properly at the front. Returned it and dealer replaced it with s Lo Pro QT for me at no cost. I like that it takes up no bed space and is easily removable. Suits my needs perfectly. Never had a problem with it and the current one has been on my truck 5 years and no issues. It's like new. Every cover has pros and cons. Find the one that suits your needs best!

X2 on the Truxedo LoPro. I have had them on my last three trucks with absolutely no issues what so ever. The roll up style that Lloyd mentioned is very nice to, I will probably go with that style next.

I started out with the Tri-Fold and loved it at first but then realized I could not see my hitch and this was very challenging since I always hitched on first try until this cover. After about 6 months, off it cam and I installed a Patriot Stealth and love it. I opted for the manual one since price was were I wanted to be.

I have a Bakflip tri-fold and like it a lot. Easy to install.

I have had several different styles of tonneau covers on my trucks. The one I have liked the best is the current one I have which is the Extang Revolution. I have found this one the easiest to use specially in the winter and is just about as fast to put on and take off as the Tri-Fold style tops. It does affect my view of the hitch slightly just because the bows roll up with the cover but it's not that big of an issue.

For all you guys that are having trouble see the hitch in your truck when you have a cover rolled up in the front of the bed, try using one of these.

https://www.amazon.com/SE-8036TM-NEW...scoping+magnet

Just telescope it up, stick it on the hitch right in front of the jaws. As you back into hook up, the pin box will push it off into the truck bed.

I have the pace Edward's Electric retractible.works great and locks wherever you stop it which is nice with the fifth wheel as it can be closed up to the hitch when loaded. It does take up about 12"×12" behind the cab so you lose a little room in the box

You have received quite a few opinions. As stated by a previous post, you will have to sort it out as to what is best for your situation.
You might even what to consider going with a topper instead.
There are some really nice one's out there in just about any shape, size, or configuration you can imagine. They do make seeing to the rear more difficult tho.

Thank you

I desided to go with the Bak Revolver Hard Rolling Tonneau Cover. It was a little more than I had hoped to spend but appears to be a very strong cover. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I have the Extang Encore over a SuperGlide hitch & it works well. Hooking up is a little interesting since I can't see the hitch. I use a child seat hook in the center of the back window as an alignment aid & usually hook up on the first try (now I've jinxed myself, the next hookup may be traumatic).

I'm going to use the magnet idea posted earler. It will help a little.

Pictures always help so here is the one I mentioned after I installed. Only fault I have found is since I live in the ice and snow area it does get some ice build up in the housing.
