Tow Vehicle upgrade

Traded the 2011 1500 single cab for a 2500 HD double cab gasser. Had to drop ball 2" to achieve level. Checked at pin 4 and it is already set up for 12V - nice not to have to go through that process. Equipped with Integrated trailer brake controller. Does anyone have experience with Chevy's integral controller? I've been using a Tekonsha Primus IQ that performed very well.

My last three GM trucks which were a 2009 and 2013 1500 had and now my 2013 2500 have the factory brake controller. Never an issue and works fine.

Had to drop the ball another inch. Trailer brakes not allowing me to adjust gain. The indicator lights that they are connected.

I’ve never had a problem withe the factory Integrated trailer brake controller. Just make sure your brakes are adjusted. I think I use mine on 6.

My last 3 GM trucks had the built in brake controller and never had any problems other than have to use some contact cleaner once in a while on the 7 way connector.

Turns out that there is some sort of connection to the "infotainment" software. I could not get the infotainment system to function properly for radio presets, recognizing me as the user, or many other functions. I could do all that but as soon as I restarted the vehicle, it returned to a default condition without having remembered anything I had set up. A trip to the dealer, saleswoman and 4 techs later - no solution. On star call was fruitless, finally a call to myChevy resulted in a 30 minute system restart procedure that cured the infotainment issue. When I got home and hooked to trailer the ITBC responded as it should. The myChevy tech said this is a known problem that occurs but infrequently.

Glad you got it fixed. I have my factory ITBC set at six for just trailer and 7 for trailer and boat for double towing.
