Weight distribution bars attached to truck

So have been thinking about the steps of in and out for the weight distro bars.

Was thinking when they are not in use, swinging them back towards the truck and creating a loop underneath the truck to get them out of the way.

Then this past weekend, as I was driving home from SLC, a guy in an old F350 have exactly what i had been thinking about. No pics, he flew by me.

I couldn't find any threads on this topic based on a quick search. Does anyone simply swing their bars forward and strap to the underneath vs take them off and store in the camper? I checked, mine would sit well out of the way.... Just one less thing to get in and out of the camper each time.

I wouldn't do it. But you can give it a try if you want. Depends on where you park if the bars could be stolen.

I assume your bars are a large L shape at the hitch? Mine arent and would likely fall out.

I've read of that on other sites. Seems reasonable if you have enough clearance. Personally I'd rather just pull them. I store mine in the bag from an old camp chair in the basement.

When I had my Roo I bought 4 pipe clamps and placed them on the trailer A frame. Then I'd pad lock them to the emergency chains on the trailer.

Equalizer system, each are straight square bars.

I would not do it. If you loose while while out on the road it could be a nightmare to get a replacement.

I have the equilizer with the square bars and have done this trick if we do not take the truck off the site.

My last TT years ago you had to turn them up under the truck to release/remove them, so that idea wouldn't have worked

Very early in this game a guy told me, "Your s*** will grow legs if you don't pay attention and lock it up." I lock everything up, but some of my stuff has still grown legs. Lock your stuff up.
