ZT-270-RL & Camco Elite

Last winter we downsized from our 40' motorhome to a ZT-270 because we were no longer full timing. We bought a 2005 GMC 2500 Duramax and the Zinger as a package.
Prior to purchasing the motorhome we had a 30' Jayco for many years. We towed it with 3 different vehicles; a 12 passenger Dodge van, a V10 Ram 2500 & a 5.7L Ram 1500. The hitch was similar to the Reese trunion bar hitch with cams & chains for sway control. It performed fine with all 3 vehicles.
Our current unit appears to have a set up similar to the Camco Elite hitch. We have towed the Zinger about 2,000 miles and I am not happy with the sway damping. Perhaps I don't understand how to adequately adjust the friction controls.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
