2015 Reserve 32RL Back ladder

We have a Reserve 2015 model 32Rl that did not come with ladder on back. Does anyone know if Crossroads supplied backing on the camper so one could be installed? Thanks

do not think there is any as the roof is not a walk on type and only 3/16" luan wood and spongy if you do not step on rafters or put a piece of plywood on it to distribute the weight over a few trusses. you can get one of the collapsible ladders and store it between the foot of the bed and the tv/fireplace unit. there is room.

I would suggest calling Crossroads Customer Service and ask them this question. Have your VIN handy so they can tell you about your specific rig.

CR Customer Service is 855-226-7496.

That said, I'd be very surprised if the RV didn't already have the support structure built in. The ladder is a factory-build option that should be able to be dealer-installed later. No dealer would be required to remove the rear cap and install a support structure.

Just my $.02 worth.

You have to order the ladder when ordering the RV. It is an option. The roof is totally walkable. We have the RFZ27BH with the ladder. Maybe you could still have it added.

OP has a Reserve not a ReZerve. The reServe does not have a fully walk on roof and cannot order a ladder. the . The reZerve has a walkable roof and can order the ladder. They both use a different slide also.

Maybe it's because I'm new to Crossroads but it strikes me as strange that there would be no way to install a ladder as an non-factory build option. How are you supposed to access the area on top of your RV to service your ACs, clear debris off the slide tops, clean and add sun-protectant to the roofing material, etc.? Haul around an 8 foot ladder?

I couldn't imagine having an RV that doesn't have access to the roof.

what I was told by a dealer ,and also factory ,was that if the roof is thin and not walkable ( allowed just for servicing) then a ladder is not advisable to keep people off roof.

I contacted Crossroads about my Sunset Trail Reserve and had to provide the Serial Number. They replied a day later and said my camper would not support the installation of a ladder. You may want to do the same. Better to know if it was built to properly install a ladder that to find out the hard way that it doesn't.

roof
That, unfortunately would be a yes. You might also want to cut a couple of pieces of plywood to span the rafters to help distribute your weight. I glued a piece of carpet to the undersides of the plywood to help protect the roof membrane. You might want to check the roof manufacturer's owner's guide because a lot of them advise against using a UV protectant.

Mine came with a ladder and I've been up on the roof about a dozen times in the last week, including the PDI. I also have a service tech up there installing the Fantastic Vent.

If I'm not supposed to be up there walking around, you'd think it would be displayed VERY prominently in the owner's manual and some sort of warning tag somewhere.

EDIT: Just reviewed the CR owner's manual and, for walking on the roof, it simply states "Use caution when walking on or loading articles on the roof" (page 50). There is further instructions that indicated periodic inspections of roof mounted items and guidance on cleaning the roof.
