Converter overcharging

2021 Cameo Crossroads 3201RL 5th wheel. Onboard converter always charges house wet cell batteries at 14.4 volts, consequently boiling them out over a very short period of time. Converter located behind fuse panel. Is there any adjustment that can be made to stop boiling out the batteries? Again this is a converter only, not an inverter/charger. Thanks in advance

I would think your rig is new enough it should have a "smart" converter that charges at multiple levels.
If you can determine what make and model it is, contact the co. and ask them if it has the capacity to alter charging modes so it doesn't boil the battery.

My guess is you have a faulty converter.

Thanks Lloyd, that is my guess too. At this time I haven’t found the make and model number but wil keep trying. Thanks again

The newwer converters can have a switch for standard or lithium batteries. The lithium charges at a higher voltage than the standard. I could be wrong but I think I read where some converters have a manual switch and some are automatic. Let us know what you find out.

Converter location

So if you open up your fuse panel, you may be able to see on the top, left the name of your converter and model number, such as mine in the picture below.

Helpful YouTube video on converter

https://youtu.be/t_Qyur-fsAw?si=isTwBmNbOpEOIKvr

Also, I was just changing my battery out from lead acid to lithium and need to know the type of converter I had. while watching videos on YouTube. I came across this video from the manufacturer that may help you diagnose your issue.

The address to the Youtube video is not set up as a 'link'. Just copy the whole address and paste it in your browser address bar.
I have taken the liberty of creating a link:

I think the video is WAY overkill, you simply need to find the make and model of the convertor, then go to the WFCO website and get the owner's manual for instructions on how to change settings.

Thanks! The video is very informative. Oh I actually did copy the address to my browser, 3 times and it didn't work, but your link does. It seems though I have a WFCO Distribution panel only, now I need to find the stand alone converter. It sounds like on the video that WFCO inverter is either Lithium or not. The only manual that came with the unit is for a WFCO distribution panel only....no surprise here! I will research further when I get a chance. Thanks again!!
