We are thinking of installing a staibilizer system on our 5th wheel. Looking at either the Steadyfast system or the JT'S Strong Arm. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

We have the Ultra Fab Eliminators and they work great. They all do a better job then nothing so which ever brand you pick you should see a big improvement in reduced movement.

I think one will work just as good as the other. They all stop the movement. If you want to save a little money, get yourself a set of load locks and position them in there top to bottom from one side to the other and then tighten them.

Thanx for all the comments. We'll just have to decide which will work best for us kind of leaning towards the Steady Fast

Jim, I seen this on the forum here. Somebody, I don't remember who had used this setup on his rig and claimed it worked for him. He had pics posted also. (I think) I probably shouldn't have posted that without having a little more of the info. But I would think if you did a search you could come up with it.
After I bought that set and installed them, I could see they are a pretty simple thing.
I like to fiddle with stuff and I wish I had been able to see exactly what they were. I would have made a set just like them for very little money.
Yes, those are load locks.

Lloyd,
Thanks, I'll search for it here, but at $79 for a set of 4, I think I'm going to order them and give them a try. Also, I will be up in Minocqua, Duluth and Chippewa Falls from August 14th to the 24th...if any of these are near you I'd like to stop and say "hi" if you'll be around. I know it's kind of far off, but we're leaving in April and won't be back to WI unitl the end of July. We then give away all the furniture and anything we can't use in the camper and walk away from our apartment. We're heading to Minocua to see friends we haven't seen in a few years...then we have always wanted to see Duluth so we're heading there, then back to BD via Chippewa Falls. Let me know if you'd like to meet. I will mail you as time gets closer
Be well,
Jim

I sent you an email.
Why don't you go down to Farm&Fleet and look at load locks. I have bought them there.

George,
I have seen the "little maps" on your signature. Can you tell me where I could find those and any info on them you can offer. My DW retires in 54 days and we will be full-timing; along with our 'blog' she would like a map like this to reflect our travels and all the states we 'camp' in.
Thanks,
Jim

Search "map to show where you have been" or words to that effect. There are different ones available to use.

Thanks Bourbon...I guess I'll have to wait for a reply from George. Searched every comination of the words and got nothing. I think it is an app that is offered outside of this forum. I'm sure George or one of the others who is it can fill me in.
Thanks for the help,
Jim

Never mind, I see you are asking about the one for your signature. Maybe this one.
http://www.epgsoft.com/VisitedStatesMap/
Create your Visited States Map.
1. Go to http://www.epgsoft.com/VisitedStatesMap/.
2. Select the states you have visited.
3. Set the map size to small, since RV.net forums limit images sizes to 100 pixels in height.
4. Set the file format to GIF or JPEG (JPEG files look better).
5. Create the map.
6. Once it appears, save it by right clicking on it and selecting Save Picture As... (remember where you save it).
Add the map to your signature.
6. Go to the Crossroads forum.
7. Login if you aren't already (click Login Here at the top of the page).
7. Click on My Forums at the top of the page.
8. Click on My Preferences.
9. Go to the line titled Signature Picture and click on Browse...
10. Select the file containing the map that you saved in step 6 and click Open.
11. Click on Submit Changes at the bottom of the page.
That's it. Now everyone can see where you've been. To update the map at any time, just repeat the steps above.

We have used the Ultra Fab Eliminators and they worked very well, however with this new unit I bought a pair of X-chocks and they seem to take more of the shaking out than the Eliminators did. (much cheaper and easier to install)
