Sunset Trail 198RB TV Mounting
My, new to me, 2016 198RBV did not have a TV installed. It feels like a solid piece of wood behind where the TV would mount. Anybody know if it is a solid piece of plywood or should I be looking for a stud?
The TV mounting space is on the outside wall. Is there space behind the mounting board so 1-2 inch bolts won't penetrate the outside wall?
I don't know how the signature gets applied as this is my first post. So I will add one.

A stud would be better. You should be able to find one if you have a stud finder.
Be careful how long of a lag screw you use. Remember, the walls are only 2 in. thick.

How to add a signature.
- Near the top of the page in the black bar on the left, you will see--UserCP
- Click on that. It's your control panel.
- Scroll down a little and on the left side you will see-- Edit Signature.
- Click on that and type in your year and model of your Rv and your name if you want to.
- Remember to go to the bottom of the page and click on Save Signature.

I have a stud finder. I will go look. And, thanks for the wall thickness warning. I had a suspicion there was not much space behind the mounting board.

Stud
Found a stud but it is 4 inches left of center in the mounting space.

Can you mount a nice stained piece of plywood to mount across two studs? This way you can mount the TV in the centre.

That is the best idea for anyone. If you need to shift the position from the wall this is what you should do.

You could use a mount with a swing arm that centers it when close to the wall. That would allow you to point it the bed or the sitting area.

Studs
OK, found three "studs." One on each end of the opening for the TV and one several inches to the left of center. The studs appear metal. Aluminum I suppose. Does anyone know their shape? A hollow square, an "I" shape?
My thinking, as a number have suggested, is going with a 3/4 inch, 24 x 10 inch plywood from edge to edge and attach to the three studs with several short metal screws in each stud.
Then the TV mount to the 3/4 ply.
Knowing the shape of the studs is not critical but it would be nice to know what I am dealing with.

They're made of 2" welded aluminum frames.

Bfsampson...............sounds like you have a plan. Could you use a 2x12 instead of plywood? I guess it just depends how many lags it would take on the TV bracket You could router the edges and stain it/varnish, counter sink the screw holes and put buttons over the screws
