A little forum history

I thought maybe some of you might be interested in a little history on how this forum started and has evolved over time. I been here almost since it started.

When this forum first started it was owned and operated by Crossroads. It looked some what like what you see below. Not quite, but close. At that time Crossroads was the only brand on here. It wasn’t too many years after the start up, Crossroads sold out to Thor. Shortly thereafter the forum was acquired by Social Knowledge.

After Thor took over they started turning out all the different makes and models of travel trailers and 5th wheels that you now see on this forum. Pretty soon there was an out cry from members that they would like to have a "sub forum" for "their" make and model RV.

So administration went to work and added all the sub forums that are now on the bottom portion of the page.

Now the forum page has added what you see below. This was all done so members could post about their particular RV in their own sub forum. Also, this was to aid in keeping information more categorized making it easier to search and find.

I know some of you guys probably wonder when I move a thread you have started and place it some place else. Maybe this will help you understand why it was done.

Thanks Tommy. I appreciate the kind words.
I thought maybe some of the younger members might be interested in some forum history.
There is a ton of stuff that has went on here since Crossroads started this forum. A lot of it is quite humorous. I didn't touch on much but there is always room to add.

Thanks Oliver.

I've been a member since 2011 and have relied on information I have gotten from many members ,but one of the first I learned that was always spot on was a member that went by the moniker of "OLD FARMER"...I haven't seen that name on here for a long time...

Yup. That be me Tommy. When they made me a mod. I had to get a little more dignified user name.
Not that there is anything wrong with being a farmer. I spent most of my life on one.

Very good and interesting write up Lloyd. It’s great to see the timeline from where this forum started and what it has evolved to. A great job by the entire site team.

Forum memory lane is right! We joined the same month, Lloyd. Often wonder where quite a few of the former contributors are now.

Russ, unfortunately some have passed away. A few others I know have purchased MH's, others have purchased a different brand RV, then there are some who have lost interest and just drifted away.
A couple of the original TX crew have sold their units, retired and when with a stick home.
Keep up the good work out there.

As always Lloyd, your insight and knowledge are much appreciated. You and the site team have done a remarkable job keeping all the info for our group relevant, accessible and up to date. Kudos to you all. I also appreciate the insight into the history since I love hearing about the origins of things I’m interested in.

Happy camping y’all !

Thanks George. It's a pleasure to see you on the forum.
Wish you would do it more often.

If my memory serves me correctly, you were quite instrumental in getting factory reps and dealers to attend the 2011 TX. Rally that Hunter11 put on down at Kerrville. That was quite a Rally. Twenty some units from all over the U.S. attended.
