Adding an Image to a post

I have been trying to add a picture to one of my posts, but no luck.
What are the steps to be taken?

I am doing everything as it is said-but I surely doing something wrong.
Do I need a administrator permission to add pictures?

1st no you dont need approval.Do you have a photobucket acct?We put the pictures in photo bucket copy the img code paste it into our post,as long as the photo remains in your photobucket it will continue to apperar in the post.We give the img code its own line anyway try this it works for us. ps to find the code,after we load the picks to photo bucket we just click on the pic and the codes appear below .right click to copy hopes this works for you

I was using the Icon with the tree picture and it did not work for me.
