Altitude 3512 fifth wheel

We are interested in this layout and lighter weight, but I haven't seen much written about the Altitude 5th wheel line. Does anyone have one of these?

I too have been looking at the 3512. I have a dealer pricing out one for me and would like to hear any comments about it.

I guess the biggest question is, Has the quality of the build improved since the new management took over?? It would show in all lines and better quality control would be a deciding factor.

Yes, I agree that quality is a top concern. I spoke with the mfg rep and found out W/D connection and auto leveling cannot be options on the Altitude. I am a bit surprised there isn't a way to do W/D in the garage. We are planning on taking an extended trip with the kids so some of these comforts are pretty important to us. I do like the kitchen/living space in the 3512.

OK, just call me stupid, but is any one else wondering what W/D means... I don't text so I don't know any of these abbreviations...

I am also looking at the Altitude 3512. I am interested in any towing info you may have. I have a Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.0 gas engine. I live in Virginia and we like going to the mountains so I am wondering if my 2500 will be enough truck. If you get one please let me know what you pull with and how it does in the mountains. Thanks

Can you give a little more info on your truck. Cab type, rear axle, 4x4?, box length.

This a fairly old thread.
Try this link. It's for the Altitude and it's down towards the bottom of the page.

Should be on the window sticker if you still have it. Could be a 3.73 rear.

I looked at the glove box option codes and found,
GT5 = 4:10 gears
G80 = axle positraction, limited slip

I could not find answers for these codes, wasn't sure if they may apply,
MYD
MAH
GEX
GXG

Thanks for your help.

Not knowing the year of your truck, here is the 2015 Chevy trailering guide;

https://www.chevrolet.com/content/da...ring-Guide.pdf

Just google year of your truck and ask for trailering guide and it should come up.

Thanks Mark5w,

I have looked at that info and it tells me 14000 lbs. The Altitude 3512 is about 10,500 lbs. dry weight. I was trying to get info from someone that pulls say 11500lbs to account for a golf cart and other stuff. I know how it pulls the 8000lbs I have now and I am afraid even though 14000 is the capacity that I will be going uphill 15 miles an hour pulling 11500. Just trying to be realistic before I take the plunge and realize I don't have enough truck and refuse to buy another one. I just bought this one, it's a 2015. Thanks again for the info.

MYD = AUTO 6 SPD, HMD, X16R

Can't find the other 3.
