With any 5th wheel nearing 40' with a GVWR of 16k+ hopefully you have a 1 ton truck, depending how/what you load into it it may be 1 ton dually territory.
Fairly certain any 5th wheel toyhauler of that length, even empty, will exceed the payload of a 3/4 ton truck. Check the yellow/white sticker on your driver's door jamb, it will state "occupants & cargo must not exceed XXXX lbs" that's YOUR trucks payload, that includes everybody/everything in/on YOUR truck that wasn't in/on it when it left the factory, including the weight of whatever hitch. Then figure 20-25% of the GVWR of the particular 5th wheel your looking at, this will give you your pin weight & that weight comes off the available payload as well. These numbers will tell you if your truck is able to tow that 5er SAFELY.
Just FYI your trucks max tow rating by the manufacturer means absolutely nothing if you don't have enough payload & the dry RV weights are also a useless numbers to you. The truck manufacturers arrive at the max tow number with a 20-25' low profile trailer loaded with concrete blocks directly over the axles, great example for the construction industry, which in NO WAY compares to towing a long tall heavy RV. The dry RV weights were posted the day it rolled off the assembly line before going to the dealer who then added batteries, filled propane bottles, possibly the spare tire & carrier, meaning YOU will never tow it at that dry weight.
