How do I sell to another person?

Because the market is up, and the campgrounds are full, I think we're going to try our hand at selling our 211RD on the (semi) open market. The quote we got from Good Sam/Camping World is way too low. We'll try to sell it on the used lot at our local Air Force Base.
OK, so I find someone who's interested. Enough to agree on price and put down some ($400 or so) non-refundable earnest money. Now I have to
1. Draw up a full sales contract.
2. Somehow get his money.
3. Send it to my bank to release the title
4. Get the title to him
Meanwhile he has to (or might have to)
1. Get financing (with only a promise of a title)
2. Get the money to me.
3. Get temporary tag and insurance
4. Complete state registration and taxation when he begins ownership
5. Get the title to his bank/lender for collateral.

That's what I see is the big picture, but I'm asking for all of you to help me fill in the details. Your thoughts?

I've sold several of them myself. I use Craigslist. Some like it, some hate it. Myself, I've had good luck with them.
All that happened on mine was, they gave me the money, I signed the title and gave it to them. I only deal in cash or certified bank check. Before releasing the title on a certified bank check I would take the buyer, and we would go to my bank with the check. If my bank is able to get the money, I would accept the check and give him the title.
Don't be afraid to raise your asking price considerably. Remember, you can always comedown, but you can't raise it after you make the deal.

Found some answers. Either the buyer or his financer sends the money to my lender, with full price, minus earnest money, according to contract I draw up. I want, he agrees. Conditions listed. All money goes to my lender, they send me any overage. They rename the title and send it to either him or his lender, depending on who paid. Now, just like a car, he can get registration and insurance.

So did these answers come from your lender? I am looking into this as well, just not in depth yet. We want to move into a trailer with a slide out for more room. We still owe some on ours and this sounds about the best way to close a deal. My wife kept wanting to bring it in for trade, but that makes zero sense. Knowing they will low ball the offer, then with remaining balance just “pay it off” by rolling it into a new loan if we finance again. Makes more sense to sell outright, put profit down onto new rig and pay less overall.

Yes, I've talked to M+T Bank twice now. Latest one said the title first gets sent to me, to sign release to buyer. First one said it would go right to buyer or financer.
I've got the TT on the base's Lemon Lot now, and will publish in FaceBook Market Place after a few days. Even if a prospective buyer can't get on base, I'll escort them in. I'll bring my generator in the truck, to show them the Air, Microwave and Converter work. I really don't want people coming here.
You are absolutely right about trade ins. First, the Good Sam/Camping World offer is WAY low, even though they're selling one like mine, a couple of years newer, for $7K more than mine!!! We learned the hard way on trade ins. We did that with the first one, and took a real bath financially, all rolled into the second loan. We just came out from "under water" recently.
Good luck on yours. I'll give you all an update when the deed is done!

I’ve sold all of mine on RV Trader. I would find my unit for sale and price mine below that sellers price. Always sold in two weeks. I always insisted certified check or cash.

We have a prospective buyer coming on Friday to look at ours. I will be calling our bank tomorrow to get an understanding of how they want it to go through. I also need to go through and print out the NADA value so the buyer doesn’t try haggling us below our pre planned low cost.

Marty, we think we have ours sold and this is how things have gone to this point.

Buyer went to his bank today for loan approval and received it. His bank wants the 10 day payout and some information on me. It will take his bank 3-4 days to set everything up, then once they are ready there will be a meeting with both us (seller) and them (buyer). Then they will contact my lien holder and wire them the money to pay off the loan and cut me a check for the excess amount. Then the lien release or title comes to me for sign off, then it’s all out of our hands.

Hopefully by the end of the week or beginning of next our unit will be someone else’s. Funny thing occurred the day they came to look at it. I noticed the spare tire flaking, peeling on the treads. This is the original spare from 2015, used once this for 60 miles mind you. I poked at the loose treads and figured we were lucky. I didn’t notice it last weekend when I washed it either. Then…exactly 1 hour after noticing it, kaboom, it exploded while my wife was in the camper cleaning. Well, new owner gets a new spare, lol. Glad I changed all tires 2 years ago.

She had to clean her britches almost….

Marty, Curious if you posted your rig on Facebook Marketplace. Out here in the West, it seems it is where people are shopping. I see way more ads on Marketplace than on Craigslist.

Good luck with your sale..........

OK folks, this is how it worked out:
1. I parked it for sale at the used lot on the AFB. (Lemon Lot)
2. After two weeks, I got a call. The agreed to my Contract for Sale. Adult son wanted it, dad didn't want to be bothered with wire transfer. I told him I'd take a check but sit on his until I know it clears. No problem, they said.
3. I overnighted the deposit-only endorsed check to my bank in KS. They gave me credit immediately. I waited a week.
4. Feeling assured it wasn't going to bounce, I ordered the wire transfer to the finance company. (M=T Bank) (yesterday)
5. At midnight I saw my loan balance go to zero, and payoff amount credited as the payoff.
6. Today, I'm not on the M+T board any more! No account at all! Also today I hitched up on base, and brought the camper to his house. Removed Regist and Plate. He signed Bill of sale indicating it was delivered.
7. Title from DMV should be here in a few days, with no lien. I'll bring it to him, and sign it over. Done deal!
8. I paid RVTrader for the 8 week gig, no prospects. Dropped ad today. Got a few calls from local boards on FaceBook Marketplace, but most of them were too late. I already had his money.
This all worked out very well. I was lucky!

The local dealers will try to lower the price and give an unfair price for your car, and usually, you don't have enough time to find a good alternative. If you are still selling 211RD, you can try to approach the jdm company, which usually offers fair prices so that you can expect a higher price for your car. I was dealing with them when I ordered the Nissan Silvia s15 from Japan; they helped me with pricing and delivery, but the final price was lower than I expected.
