I'm hauling with a 2010 Ram with the 5.7L ad 3:92 rear axle. I have the Reese Dual Cam system. Power is not a problem. No sway to speak of, but when a semi passes me on the left there is split second when the truck and trailer fights the wave of wind the semi is pushing. Not sure if a bigger tow vehicle would eliminate this, but I don't want to spend $50-60 grand to find out.
But by all means I recommend sway control when hauling something 11ft high and 34 feet long. Worth the investment.

You have a good hitch but in my limited experience the only cure for that problem is a 5th wheel. Bumper pulls just don't like the "bow wave" off a semi. A 5th wheel barely notices anything. At least mine doesn't. It's based on where the hitch point is. A 5th has it over the rear axle and the air pushes the trailer but it has a hard time moving the rear axle sideways whereas the bumper pull hitch point is ~4' behind the axle and the leverage moves the truck.
My 2 cents. Spend the change wisely.Edited by: avvidclif

I have had 5rs and bumper pulls. Before I got the Hensley I would have agreed with you. But not now.

I agree the Pro Pride and the Hensly have corrected that problem

After many years of hemming & hawing, I did get a ProPride hitch this spring.
The $2,000 I invested was one of my better decisions. It absolutely removes ALL the sway. I do not feel trucks passing or gusty winds. The ProPride makes towing enjoyable, not just something I have to endure.
