Ss212rb

We are looking at a 212rb. Is there anything to watch out for?

Just like any thing you need to check it out thoroughly -- There is a good PDI in the documents section. Have them show you not only how to do something but then you do it .Also remember campers are made from products from many vendors like the refrigerator, water heater, furnace and so on just the box is from the manufacture and the final assembly. I tell folks that campers are like children most of the time there good but every now and again they act up. They need constant attention.

One of the biggest things is the dealer and there reputation. In my experience a mom and pop operation usually were best. And if it is new does not it mean will not have some problem. Bought a new 5th wheel and within 1 week the refrigerator quit. Called the dealer and they got me in the next day as we were leaving on a 2 week vacation. Ended up taking a refrigerator out of another camper so we could leave. Unfortunately they were bought out by the big one and now service really is bad.

Good luck with your purchase!

We’ve had the 212RB for 2 years now and love it, for couples. It’s not a great rig if you have kids or will be having guests stay with you occasionally. But it’s a perfect couples rig. If you decide to get this unit, I’ve created a Cad drawing with all interior and exterior dimensions should you find that sort of thing useful. Good luck in your search.

What's the coldest you have camped in in it?

We do a fair amount of winter camping about once a year in WA, MT, ID & OR. The coldest we’ve camped in was in the teens in Oregon. It did ok. Everything kept functioning just fine. But one day I am going to install tank heaters.
