Sunset Trail Analysis Paralisys

Hi there and appreciate any of yor great insights you can share. I am considering a 2020 259RLS. Feature wise and floor plan check the boxes for the wifey but I get into the weeds.

- Anyone have delam problems out there or issues with slide mechanism?
- On the United we are looking at, the several trim pieces and wallpaper
Seams are loose. Is this a constant problem to fight? (Have had no
issues on my Jayco)
- does cabinetry construction hold up?
- Rear bumper seems recessed underneath the camper to the point it
seems to Be of little use. Is my perception correct?
- I’m guessing sidewall construction is 1 1/2 thickness being a super light.
Has anyone done research on how Crossroads builds these?
- How is warranty support?

Lastly, any regrets you have with an RV from Crossroads?

Thanks again and God Bless!

We've owned three different models of Sunset Trails. Our most recent is a 2018 33SI. To answer your questions below . . .

- Anyone have delam problems out there or issues with slide mechanism? No, not on any of ours.
- On the United we are looking at, the several trim pieces and wallpaper
Seams are loose. Is this a constant problem to fight? (Have had no
issues on my Jayco) We had one ceiling trim piece fall from vibration. Once I fixed with longer nails, it's been fine.
- does cabinetry construction hold up? Have never had an issue with the cabinetry and found it to more well made than some other brands. We did add struts to all of the horizontal ones for convenience of not having to hold to keep them open.
- Rear bumper seems recessed underneath the camper to the point it
seems to Be of little use. Is my perception correct? Ours is not recessed.
- I’m guessing sidewall construction is 1 1/2 thickness being a super light.
Has anyone done research on how Crossroads builds these? Ours is a Grand Reserve so haven't researched.
- How is warranty support? Warranty has been great. But that kind of depends on your dealer as well.

Lastly, any regrets you have with an RV from Crossroads? Obviously, no regrets since we continue to purchase this brand.

See answers below. Mine is a 2021 and we’ve only had it 6 months so take that into consideration

- Anyone have delam problems out there or issues with slide mechanism? NONE SO FAR.
- On the United we are looking at, the several trim pieces and wallpaper
Seams are loose. Is this a constant problem to fight? (Have had no
issues on my Jayco). HAD TO FIX ONE AFTER THE PDI. BUT THE REST ARE GOOD SO FAR.
- does cabinetry construction hold up?
CABINETS ON THE CROSSROADS UNITS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN MOST AND FAR BETTER THSN MY LAST FOREST RIVER.
- Rear bumper seems recessed underneath the camper to the point it
seems to Be of little use. Is my perception correct? MINE IS NOT RECESSED
- I’m guessing sidewall construction is 1 1/2 thickness being a super light.
Has anyone done research on how Crossroads builds these? THAT INFO IS TIGHTLY GUARDED BUT I ALSO SUSPECT IT TO BE ABOUT 1.5”
- How is warranty support? EXCELLENT!!

Lastly, any regrets you have with an RV from Crossroads?
WE LOVE THIS UNIT. ONLY REGRET IS THE 12Vdc only fridge. WISH WE HAD THE 12v/LP fridge.

Thanks again and God Bless![/QUOTE]

I have had nothing but severe problems with my Crossroad RL25. Too many to enumerate here. Read their warranty very closely, you must return the trailer to a dealer annually for inspection to maintain the warranty. I will never buy another Thor product. I have a detailed report on the many problems and grossly inferior manufacturing encountered in my trailer. If interested I will send you an email. You can contact me directly if interested. If you by a Crossroads anyway, good luck.

Never had any major problems with by 2013 Patriot Cruiser, The small problems I had were repaired by my dealer thru the Crossroads warranty.
Minor problems I fix myself. Constant maintenance and upkeep is a necessity.
Owning an Rv is a commitment to constant inspection of the rv.
If anyone thinks that another manufacturer does not have problems with their rv's, check out their forums to be enlightened.
