Sunset Trail Reserve questions

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the wonderful world of travel trailering and I am very close to making my first purchase. I am looking at a 2012 Sunset Trail Reserve 26BH and was wondering what everyone's opinion of the product is. Thanks so much in advance for your feedback.

I was at the RV show this past weekend and looked very hard at that one, the 29SS the 32FR and one other with the TV that slides outside at the back. IMO I thought they were all very nice and well made (one of few that have two years coverage) so I got the 32FR and joined here. Good luck, and enjoy your hunt.

I'm not that familiar w/ the sunset trails but I can tell you that crossroads has been really good to work with. I had to have my Zinger in twice for minor warranty work and both times they covered it without a problem.

Have owned 4 trailers now and the Sunset Trail has been the best. Couple of things fixed the first 6 months (micro and bathroom faucet replaced under warranty). Trouble free since and heading into our 5th season with it. Haven't seen anything to motivate us to change out.

Absolutely love our 29ss Reserve with one glaring exception...I had to replace the incredibly flimsy Lippert axles that bent within the first 1,300km. I can only hope the 2012's have improved. A 26BH should have a lower UVW so they may be fine but Crossroads put 3500#axles (of inferior quality)on a unit that weighed 6200# off the lot. They are not the only manufacturer to do this but I expected better from them. Did I mention we absolutely love our 29ss reserve?

I have the 26BH and it has been a great purchase. We got a good deal and have been pleased with our dealers service. We have been on several trips and really love it.



I did make some modifications to it. I added lots of shelves to the closets, reversed the bathroom door (to make the bathroom accessible during travel), and some other things to make the trailer more "mine".
