Don, just to make sure we're talking about the same thing I installed two friction sway bars from harbor freight (link below). These attach to my weight distribution hitch. So I'm not certain what you mean by "standard sway bar". When you look that up on google I get pictures a variety of different apparatus that look like weight distribution hitches to me.
