Thanks Patrick! Will double check. Battery is new and fully charged. Will give it a cleaning or replace it. Looks like an easy and at eight years old, perhaps necessary replacement.

Well folks, at the end of the day it was the converter. I should have known as the fan on the converter wasn't kicking on....and Carl's point above. Duh.
