I agree it could be a problem if you don't check,...

I agree it could be a problem if you don't check, but the cardboard is easily removed and the check is automatic when we hitch-up because that is also the spot where I store my lights/brake...

We have an '01 Paradise Pointe with the same type...

We have an '01 Paradise Pointe with the same type of kingpin box but bigger. Here in AZ, the Road Runners like to build their nests in it. Last year we stayed home 3 extra weeks until 3 eggs hatched....
