Look into a flip chip, You would have different settings, One for pulling, and flip it for a better mpg. Look around for a speed shop with a dyno.

Again I agree with the above, I don't think your going to brake the transmision but the heat might be an issue. You can get a GOOD guage for about $45. I would keep an eye on all of your temps.
