You are pretty close. with O.S.on or off on C all off
O.S. on or off on L candlelight
O.S. on on H 2 bulbs
O.S. of on H1 bulb
I think it would work just the same with LEDS, give it a try on...

1bulb only half lighting
2 bulbs in series very cosy candlelight type lighting
