Wow, that's a shallow shelf area. My 722 receiver is 13inches deep. Maybe mounting sideways like Larry mentioned would be the way to go.

I don't know your rig but mine sits under the TV on the next shelf area down. I have the Dish VIP 722 which is pretty thin compared to other models. (3"H X 16"W.
