I would not suggest only having a photo cell type...

I would not suggest only having a photo cell type but also have the original ionizing type relocated. You really need that as photo cell detects smoke only which could be too late to help!

I suggest replacing the factory installed unit near the kitchen witha photo cell type alarm and relocate the original unitto bedroom area. This will eliminate many cooking alarms which the exhaust...
