If it is a sunset trail like mine , there is sealant around the outside of the light that will have to be cut off before you can take the light off.. a pain to do. They seal everything on the trailer...

Cannot see why they would bring the wires from the belly to the roof then back to the belly?? The rep you talked to probably does not have or ever wired a trailer. The only wire that should be near...
