I am not sure on the newer units but in my case the sat cable only connection is in the main entertainment area. I can see not being wired to the bedroom, if I think that is what you are asking, can...

That is norm that one is for the TV through the amp, of course turn it off when hooked to cable, and the other is for the sat hook up. You should have no problem if you have a clear shot to the sat...
