I have a queen size "Corsicana Santiago" pillow top mattress in one of my spare bedrooms that is only 2 years old. My wife wanted to use that in place of the junk mattress that came with our new TT. The only problem is that it is 14 inches thick. You need a ladder to get on the bed lol. So I cut 2 inches up from the bottom on the side all the way around the mattress. I then took the 6 inch set of springs from the middle out and added a 2 inch memory foam. So there is 4 inch dense foam on the bottom, 2 inch memory foam and 4 inch pillow top on top. It is now the same size as the original mattress.

Though my wife thought I was crazy when I said I was gonna cut an $800 mattress and rebuild it, it feels great and my wife loves it.

Our Seville came with a king (we sold it to the CIA for advanced interrogation it was so bad) and replaced it with a IKEA queen. I had to rebuild the frame using the IKEA spring system. The only issue I had/have is trying to put the gas springs back under the bed.

Spent one weekend on the OEM mattress in my '18 Zinger. It was horrible, felt like it was sleep on a sheet of plywood it was so hard. I went to Mattress Firm and picked up one of their store branded normal queens with a pillow top. So much better and yeah I could have donated the original to the CIA for use as a torture rack.

WOO HOO ITS HERE! The FedEx man brought the new mattress today it is in and poofing up as I type this. Will give a full review after this long weekend. One thing we did notice was the platform that the bed sets on was about 2 -3" narrower then the mattress. It does not look like it has been cut down and the old mattress had the original tag from 2005. So it is the one that came with the camper. Looking forward to a good nights sleep.

We bought the 8" Park Meadow Pocketed Coil Rv Mattress II form Mattress insider. We had a memory Foam mattress on top of the old one and did not like it. Have not tried the new one yet but the wife says it feels better then the one we have at home.

UPDATE. We tried the new mattress last weekend and the only thing I can say is WHY did we not do this sooner. This was the first time I did not wake up from a backache in a very long time. The mattress is very firm but not hard and seems very well built. They also make replacement mattresses for the sofa sleeper. Will put that one on the wish list for another day. I can honestly say I will buy from Mattress Insider again. Also They have a great warranty so check them out.

A good nights sleep leads to Happy Camping.

I have Mattress Insiders in both of my 5ers. Sleep better in them than at home. Gotta do something to upgrade my home mattress.

So glad it worked out and you’re happy with it. We also have the sofa mattress and love it! Could not be more pleased with the Mattreess Insider company. Great product and fantastic customer service.

We ordered the " 8" Park Meadow Pocketed Coil RV Mattress II " . As I shall we say am of above average size they added extra coils . They were VERY easy to work with and shipping was fast. And the warranty is great. You have 120 days to try it and if you do not like it just follow there policy of donating it and they return your money no return shipping no trying to box it back up to ship it back. But I WILL NOT be returning mine. We love it. IT also comes with a 20 year warranty.

Happy Camping.

I think its odd that people usually buy a camper to relax and get away from the grind and sleep on a cheap uncomfortable mattress. I never go cheap when it comes to an rv mattress because I want that relaxing camping ambience to follow me to bed! If you have under the bed storage custom mattresses can be just as light and really not much more than a run of the mill mattress plus it will last you forever unless your a full-timer.
