Apparently I was mixed up on what caused the fan...

Apparently I was mixed up on what caused the fan to run or need to run to cool the converter.:o

It's the draw of DC current which creates heat and calls for cooling, not AC.

I took the cover off yesterday and started the electric heater running on high for about 10 min. The fan never offered to run. It's not stuck, I can turn it with my finger.

It dawned on me the last time we were out that I haven't heard the fan run in the converter, and I don't remember hearing it for quite some time now.
I really don't know if that is anything crucial...
