Isn't there a channel there for that "beauty strip" to snap into? It probably shrunk up sitting there in the sun and either blew out on the road or just plain fell out. You should be able to purchase...

Rick, I always take care of the caulking and sealant myself. It's not that hard to do. Just time consuming.
If they want $5000 to do the job---it sounds pretty expensive to me. WOW!
