I really believe you decyfered it incorrectly or...

I really believe you decyfered it incorrectly or it was told that way to you. If you do not regulate the pressure to the hose it will swell in the heat if you regulate it at the spicket it will not...

Much safer to use regulator at the spicket so it then protects the hose also
