Cheaper or at least as cheap as the little dissolvable chemical packs. I don't necessarily mind the "porta potty" smell. I actually don't smell anything. I understand the principle of soft water...

Hmmm...the borax is also a water softener. States so on the box. States it will work on the Geo website and I think several on here said so too. I just started using it so have no first hand...
