Actually, the mattress in those bunks are only foam, so she just added another layer of foam. It doesn't matter if its on the bottom or top of the original foam.

I have the same camper. I added a 1 1/4" memory foam for my guests. I just noticed you have a hinged access to your storage compartment. I'm not sure if I have that or not. I will check this...
