The Carefree power awnings have a series of push pins on both arms to adjust the pitch, as long as there's no more than 3 holes difference between the arms you can extend/retract without readjusting....

You can anchor them down, but the edges will still flap. It's best to roll them at night, whenever you leave the rv & if high winds are predicted, it's just the push of a button.
