We have the Seville VF35CK and have often wondered why the manufacturer never added a hinged lid to the steps leading up to the bedroom, it would make a great place to put shoes after entering the trailer. Â*Has anyone done this mod or know of a reason that we can't do it, possibly wiring or pipes under the steps that might conflict?

If I remember right ---- Chrisnan23 did a mod on his step like you are considering. Maybe he will pick up on this. He had pics of his work inside the 5er. He did a beautiful job.

Nice, good idea! I am going to look into this, as I really dislike having the shoes around the door! Hopefully it works out!

I tried to do a search for posts by chrisnan23 to see if I could see the pics of his mod but couldn't find anything, mind you I am not that computer savvy so I might not have been using the search function properly, lol, will keep looking.

The search you want is in the old arcives and I don't know if you can get to them. If I rember he made the steps as seperate boxes and hinged the tread section so it would open.

I think I found the pics you are talking about with the separate boxes that clip together, pretty neat idea, but I was thinking of using the existing steps that lead to the upper level or master bedroom and just somehow cut them and hinge them. Â*I am probably over simplifying a difficult task haha hubby says I am good at that!

My first FW had a step like your talking about. What was done on it was to remove the tread of the step and cover it with carpet and attach two pieces of wood under the bottom that just fit the opening thus keeping the step tread from sliding off the step either side or front.

Just make sure and not leave the lid/step in the up position

I was wondering the same thing. My husband and I ordered the same unit - expect delivery in late May. While touring the model at the W. Palm RV show, I bent over and tried to lift up the step - thinking the same thing - it would be a great storage area. Could it be that is where the central vacuum configuring is?

If anyone has already had experience traveling in this particular unit- we would welcome any advice or tips. We are newbies! Have never traveled in an RV before (or camped!) and are excited to begin my husband's retirement - in this new unit.

Of course, we have several questions. One in particular: we are contemplating purchasing a 4" memory foam topper for the bed - as the mattress in the model seemed quite thin.

The factory rep. was on hand at the RV show and spent over an hour with us - convincing this was the unit to buy - it certainly appears to be one of the most well made RV's on the market.

Any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you.

We bought our memory foam topper from Costco and it really makes a huge difference in the comfort level on the bed. Â*Our Seville is parked at a seasonal lot so we have only towed it the one time so can't really advise you on any towing type questions but I did spend over 70 nights in the trailer last season and loved it. Â*The only flaw in my opinion is the compartment doors going across the front of our unit where the hitch is, could have better. Â*In our particular unit it was set up for a generator and it has 2 fairly low doors with the one for the generator being a smaller sealed metal box within the storage area. Â*Hubby removed the metal box and the area behind the 2 doors is now one huge area that is really tall but you have to bend your head down to look up and in to see all the space up there. Â*We saw a newer unit where they had Â*one huge door and wished ours had been made like that but I think they resolved that problem at a later build date. Â*Other than that I can't think of any flaws that we have noticed.
Everyone loves the fireplace wall and the kitchen, we get a lot of compliments on the look of the trailer and a lot of people asking to see inside of it.
